We have developed the BBC Media Player app to improve video streaming playback on Android devices. You will need to install this separately from the Google Play marketplace.

Read phone status and identity – allows us to securely link downloads to your device, so they cannot be copied to another.
Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage – allows the app to save images, metadata and downloads.
Full network access- allows the app to access the internet.
View network connections - Allows the app to access details about network connectivity i.e. whether the device is on Wi-Fi or 3G/4G.

Prevent phone from sleeping – enables downloads to be performed in the background.
Test access to protected storage – allows the app to check if there is space on your device to download programmes.

Took some time for the BBC to gradually get BBC iPlayer to full parity with the iOS release, but it's just about there now for the vast majority of popular Android models. A piecemeal approach to introducing offline download support has annoyed some users, but it remains a superb way of using your phone as a modern portable telly for the bedroom, as long as your broadband's up to the task.

Have you enjoyed King’s other casual puzzle games? Well, you’ll like Diamond Digger Saga then. That’s a cliched line for any review but it’s so very true when it comes to these kind of things. Diamond Digger Saga is going to be very familiar in structure and in terms of slowing you down at certain points. It’s either going to draw you in despite your better judgment, or make you sigh.
Slightly different from the usual way of doing things, you have to dig a path by clearing away groups of three or more matching diamonds. This enables water to travel from the top of the screen to the bottom, leading you to new areas and potential opportunities for treasure. Each level has a different objective, such as to hit a certain score or collect up some scattered fireflies along the way. It’s simple enough with each stage not taking long to finish – and that’s where King gets you.
You see, while early levels are pretty simple, you’re eventually going to get stuck on one, thereby using up your lives and having to wait for the timer to recharge. You’ll be tempted to pay up to get past the wait, which is where Diamond Digger Saga turns predictably expensive. You’ll pass the level, and then soon enough you’ll be stuck again and so on.
It’s an idea that’s both cynical and sometimes beguiling. Diamond Digger Saga is just so easy to play that casual gaming fans will be drawn in again, enjoying the simplicity of just tapping to clear, without any fears of a time limit. Diamond Digger Saga doesn’t have as many levels as some other Saga games and it doesn’t offer the same level of strategy that some titles have, but it offers enough to draw you in.
Is Diamond Digger Saga a classic? Far from it, but it does have a certain something about it. Even if it is probably a little too simple for comfort.

If there’s one thing Wipeout fans like to see, it’s people getting KO’d by large obstacles. So they’ll be pleased to discover that there’s plenty of that in the sequel to the game based on the TV show. They’ll instantly feel at home with this iteration, with the same gesture controls as before, but also with the newly introduced competitive element of a ghostly rival racing for the best time possible.
Fans will notice that Wipeout 2 has implemented a new energy system in lieu of a premium price tag. Though gifts and prizes from power-ups to coins (which ironically can only be spent on power-ups) are generously distributed throughout, the only way to recharge the energy of the contestants is to wait it out. The more characters they unlock, the more collected energy they’ll have, but obviously they cost slowly-gained “Ballsy Bucks” – which of are, of course, for sale as an in-app purchase.
Gameplay-wise Wipeout 2 feels like the previous game, albeit with some of the life sucked out of it. Gone are the ragdoll physics that added a sense of suspense to things as the contestants were tripped up or flung into the air, reacting to each collision accordingly. There are no tense moments in which a character hangs half off, half on to a platform, only to hoist themselves up at the last second. While the original Wipeout may have had its flaws, Wipeout 2 just feels clinical and rigid in comparison, and that’s a shame. Getting hit by any obstacle, no matter the size or motion, will pulverize any contestant in its way and prompt a drawn out checkpoint restart. It borders on frustrating more often than not.
With 135 levels spanning 15 seasons and zany themes aplenty, Wipeout 2 has a lot of longevity. However, while the themes may change the actual obstacles stay the same. They’re simply presented in a different package, which means that most courses feel rehashed and predictable.
Wipeout 2 is a decent runner but it doesn’t stand up to the first game, and that’s down to the stiffness of the whole experience. It lacks the individuality and charm of the original, and soon becomes a bit of a chore more than anything.

The app itself isn't what you'd call attractive, but eBay lets you browse, watch items and buy stuff, integrating a Paypal sign-in for quick getting of things. Better still, now Android phones all have immense cameras on them, it's a doddle to sell items straight through the app - take a photo, upload it, have most of the listing data pre-filled for you. The app is better as a selling tool than the desktop site, in fact.

Part eBay and part Pinterest, it's a pretty and simple way to offer used stuff for sale and find bargains nearby.
