As a NYer, one of my major complaints has always been about how difficult it is to get a taxi. As a performer, my biggest issue was finding a cab who was willing to take me to my area of town after a gig. UBER HAS FIXED ALL OF THAT! I've been using Uber for 6 months now and I haven't had one bad experience. Every car is clean, every driver was courteous and professional, and I've felt safer than I've ever felt.
